Nestled in the quaint market town of Hawes, YHA Hawes is a delightful stop for any traveler craving comfort and camaraderie. With its spotless rooms and ample drying facilities, it catered perfectly to my recent cycling trip across the Yorkshire Dales. The warm, hearty Wensleydale breakfast was a culinary highlight, giving me the fuel needed for a day of exploration-especially with the renowned Wensleydale Creamery nearby! What truly stood out was the friendly atmosphere; I felt right at home among fellow adventurers, sharing stories of our escapades. The staff were genuinely welcoming, embodying the British knack for hospitality. Plus, being just a stone's throw from local gems like the Dales Countryside Museum made it an excellent base to unwind and soak in the region's rich history. For a reasonable price, YHA Hawes offers that rare mix of simplicity and charm, perfect for short stays or for school groups seeking an educational getaway. While I usually appreciate a bit of luxury when traveling, this place warmed my heart like a cup of good Yorkshire tea-an unexpected gem I would happily revisit.
